Section 3313.813 of the Ohio Revised Code requires public and community schools, in which at least 20% of the enrolled children are eligible for free meals, to implement school lunch and breakfast programs.  According to data collected by the Ohio Department of Education, both Heath High School and Heath Middle School meet this standard.  At this time, both buildings have lunch programs but not breakfast programs.  Therefore, for the 2012-2013 school year, the district has (3) optons.  One is to implement breakfast programs at both buildings.  Two is to delay implementaton to a future school year and Three is to opt out of the requirement.  Let it be known that Heath City Schools will select option 3, opt out, due to financial reasons and let this serve as public notice of the district's decision.  Futhermore, let it be known that breakfast programs will be implemented at Garfield and Stevenson elementaries during school year 2013-2014 due to the percantage of students receiving free lunches exceeding 33%.
